COMMON QUESTIONS

Dental Crowns FAQ

All-ceramic and zirconia crowns typically last 15–20 years or more with proper care. Regular check-ups, good oral hygiene and avoiding habits like teeth grinding (we can provide a night guard) will help maximise the lifespan of your crown.
Not at all. The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic before preparation, so you won't feel any discomfort during the procedure. A temporary crown protects the tooth between visits. Mild sensitivity after fitting is normal and settles within a few days.

At Smile Studio, dental crowns start from £550 for a high-quality all-ceramic crown. Zirconia options are also available. 0% finance is available to spread the cost. The exact price depends on the type of crown and your clinical needs, which Dr Kal will discuss at your consultation.

A veneer covers only the front surface of a tooth for cosmetic improvement, whereas a crown covers the entire tooth for both cosmetic and structural repair. Crowns are typically recommended when a tooth is significantly damaged, weakened by a root canal, or needs a large filling replaced.
